Two gaps in the shared inspection function of government agencies dealing with the regulation of medicines in South Africa. Gap 1: Exists in lack of Post Market Surveillance once products have been registered due to restrictions in jurisdiction. Gap 2: Exist in the case of inspecting dispensing doctor or medical practitioners. The Department of Health (DoH) was unable to follow through due to limited capacity, while the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) couldn’t step into the role due to jurisdiction as well
